This week Jerrod will be posting on Instagram and Facebook about ways in which their past Visual Explorations trips to Italy have inspired and influenced life at home in Mississippi. Their 2020 trip was scheduled for this week and had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Group exhibition at the Walter Anderson Museum of Art

Jerrod will have three oil paintings on his handmade paper in a group exhibition titled “Written in the Sand” at the Walter Anderson Museum of Art in Ocean Springs, MS. This exhibition includes twenty-three works by artists Billy Solitairo, Mary Monk, Louis Morales, Curtis Jaunsen, Diego Larguia, Auseklis Ozols, and Jerrod. All work has either been done on or is inspired by Horn Island off the coast of Mississippi. The Walter Anderson Museum of Art will be open to the public again on June 29, and the exhibition runs through November 9.

Retrospective exhibition at the Gumtree Museum of Art

Jerrod’s solo exhibition “A Retrospective: 2009-2019” will be on display at the Gumtree Museum of Art in Tupelo, MS from June - July. The show will be comprised of drawings and paintings representing each year during that time period. This exhibition will open when the museum is able to open to the public safely due to the current pandemic and has a closing reception scheduled for Friday, July 24.

New Block Print Series

Jerrod has designed and is currently hand printing a new series of prints based on the flora of the Gulf Coast. Available are palmettos, sensitive fern, azaleas, and Louisiana Iris. 5”x7” hand printed on BFK Rives paper. 1-color prints - $55; 2-color prints - $85; a set of all four - $260, plus tax and shipping. Drawing Exhibition

A solo exhibition of 50 of Jerrod’s drawings will be shown at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Jackson County Fine Arts Gallery. The work will span from 2003 when he began graduate studies at the New York Academy of Art to the present. Included will be drawings from New York, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Italy and Japan. Opening reception for the exhibition will be on March 12 (12:15pm), and run through April 16.
